The Mission

“In Africa, there are lots of vocations… but we don’t have a House of Studies. We need to build.” — Fr. Antonius Maria

The mission of the St. Benedict House of Studies is to form holy priests rooted in the Tradition of the Church, especially through fidelity to the Traditional Latin Mass, authentic Catholic theology, and a robust spiritual life. In the village of Singida, where vocations are abundant yet resources are scarce, the seminary exists to provide young men with the education, formation, and discipline needed to serve God faithfully in the priesthood. Here, seminarians are taught to unite hard work with prayer — building their own classrooms brick by brick, rising at dawn for the Divine Office, and sanctifying each day through study and sacrifice.

At its heart, the St. Benedict House of Studies is not only about preparing priests for Tanzania, but about safeguarding the future of the Faith worldwide. As Bishop Athanasius Schneider has said, this seminary offers hope not just for Africa, but for the entire Church. In a time when many Catholics hunger for reverence, clarity, and truth, the seminarians of Singida are being formed to be strong shepherds, faithful to the Immaculata, and ready to carry the torch of the Mass of the Ages to generations yet to come.

The Vision

Dormitories, classrooms, chapel, kitchen for seminarians.

What We Saw

Mass at dawn with hundreds of girls and nuns singing.

Self-sufficiency in farming and livestock.

Providential well at 57 meters.

Why This Matters

Without the seminary, vocations may be lost to non-traditional formation.

Our Role

2023 climb raised over $100,000 — well dug, foundation laid.

How You Can Help

Donate, sponsor a climber, host a presentation, pray.

The St. Benedict House of Studies in Singida, Tanzania, is more than a building project — it is the seedbed of future priests who will offer the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in the ancient and venerable Roman Rite. In Africa, vocations abound, but without a proper seminary, many young men are left without formation rooted in Tradition. By donating, you are not simply giving bricks and mortar — you are safeguarding the Mass of the Ages, forming priests who will sanctify souls for generations to come. Every gift, whether great or small, becomes part of this Marian mission, helping to secure a fountain of grace for the Church in Africa and beyond. Ave Maria — Adveniat Regnum Mariae!
